CashAlly is a budget tracker and banking app which aims to prioritise efficient expense tracking and simplify transaction processes for Singaporeans.
Users are able to keep track of budgets and loans in each card for better management.
The task involved conducting research and designing a user-friendly application with clear navigation. CashAlly was created using Figma and Miro.
Target Audience: 23-45 years old users seeking efficient management of their funds. This group typically owns more than 2 bank accounts and looking for better ways of regulating spending habits.
Interviews were conducted with open-ended questions regarding the reasons behind most and least used banking apps.
Only 20% of interviewees are actively using budget tracker app for keeping track of transportation and food expenses.
Main Takeaways
Pain Points
-

Inconvenient to use different apps for money transfer
-
Sometimes hard to keep track of all transactions in multiple bank cards
Motivations
-
To manage their budget efficiently and plan for the future
-
Able to see a clear breakdown of budget categories
-
Able to transfer money in the same platform
My objectives for building mid-fidelity prototypes:
-
Find out if users can locate and understand the budget tracker
-
If users understand the user flow of transferring and requesting money
Feedback from interviewees (26-33 years old) after being guided through the usability flow,
-
To have a filter button for users to simplify the views of their budget
-
A budget-sharing feature is great when users go on trips with friends
-
To have a priority contact list to transfer money
Based on the feedback, high fidelity prototype was built with a moodboard of blue and purple tones. A Psychology study shows that blue tones can be visually presented as trust and loyalty, in which users can associate the app to reliably manage their funds.
